Glendale Living Room and Kitchen Renovation

This intimate open-concept space was reimagined to maximize function, elevate form, and celebrate thoughtful design. The goal: enhance storage and flow within a limited footprint while creating a warm, cohesive environment.

The kitchen underwent a transformative update, where existing cabinets were meticulously refinished to breathe new life into the space. A standout design feature is the innovative floating island—crafted by repurposing the original upper cabinetry. Designed for flexibility, this mobile island can be positioned in three distinct ways, allowing the kitchen to adapt seamlessly to cooking, entertaining, or everyday living.

To create visual depth and define the space, a dramatic backsplash was introduced, complemented by ambient under-shelf lighting and sculptural ceiling fixtures that add both function and finesse.

In the adjoining living room, comfort and elegance take center stage. A generously sized L-shaped sectional wraps the space, creating a cozy, lounge-like atmosphere. A luxurious, plush area rug grounds the seating area, while a rich leather ottoman adds tactile contrast. Custom window treatments frame the space, softening natural light and adding a tailored finish.

Bridging the two spaces is a bespoke entertainment wall—a custom-built unit using warm butcher block to echo the kitchen’s material palette. Behind it, a hand-painted mural inspired by agate and geode formations brings an organic, artistic energy to the room. This expressive feature wall serves as both focal point and unifying element, harmonizing the kitchen and living areas with a sense of natural rhythm and refined cohesion.
